Billy Idol has detailed how he and his drug seller “tortured” the singer’s file label in an effort to achieve additional creative management.

The incident befell in 1983 as Idol was readying his sophomore album, Insurgent Yell. The singer’s label, Chrysalis Information, was focussed on getting the LP out rapidly. So when Idol deemed Insurgent Yell’s unique cowl artwork not ok, the label responded by gruffly declaring they have been going to place the album out anyway.
