Lisa Marie Presley Wanted Axl Rose to Perform at Memorial Service

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose was one of many many in attendance at Lisa Marie Presley‘s memorial service over the weekend. The singer spoke a bit about his friendship with Presley, and performed “November Rain” on the piano — which was apparently a request Presley made previous to her loss of life.

Following the service, Rose was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight and was requested how he felt throughout his speech on the service.

“I did not actually know I used to be going to talk or something, and I nonetheless really feel like I do not know that I need to be right here. However I needed to do proper by her and her household and the followers. So it meant so much, I used to be fairly nervous and emotional up there about it. After I wrote it, I used to be calm — however not saying it,” Rose defined.

The interviewer then talked about that “November Rain” was considered one of Presley’s favourite songs, wherein Rose said that she truly needed him to play it on the service.

“Sure, it was my understanding she had truly talked about, if the scenario… In order that’s why I used to be requested to do it. So in fact I needed to be right here,” the singer mentioned.

Rose and Presley have apparently been mates for years, and based on an interview Rose did with People, he despatched her jokes, animal movies and different types of leisure to try to cheer her up after the loss of life of her son Benjamin Keough in July of 2020.

“Her son’s passing was stunning, tragic and devastating. It was one thing that, at some extent, you clearly did not wish to convey up however awkwardly would in an effort to let her know you cared and have been serious about her, about them, and to be of any consolation one might, which she appreciated,” Rose recalled.
