Earlier this month, Loudwire included Disturbed’s 2023 appearances on the U.Okay.’s Download Festival (in June) and Ohio’s Inkcarceration Music and Tattoo Festival (in July) as a part of our 2023 Rock + Metal Music Festival Guide. Not too long ago, the band introduced some new and thrilling European summer time tour dates, in addition to a glimpse into which bands can be supporting them.
As confirmed on their official website, the Take Again Your Life Tour – named after the eighth song on 2022’s Divisive document – will kick off on Jun. 7 in Austria. The next few days, they’re set to play Obtain Pageant; after that – and thru the tip of June – they’ll cease by Germany, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Lastly, they’ll conclude June with a live performance in Israel.
Whereas they haven’t revealed supporting acts for each present, they’ve confirmed that British rock troupe Asking Alexandria will open for them in Germany on Jun. 12. Likewise, American post-hardcore/nu-metal quintet I Prevail will open for them in Luxembourg on Jun. 19. (Presumably, they’ll be specializing in their newest studio albums, 2021’s See What’s on the Inside and 2022’s True Power, respectively.)
Going again to Divisive, it was Disturbed’s eighth unique LP and their first since 2018’s Evolution. In an October 2020 interview with Loudwire Nights, frontman David Draiman described it as “blisteringly indignant.” Apparently, it featured a visitor look from Heart vocalist Ann Wilson on “Don’t Tell Me,” which Draiman understandably cited as “certainly one of my favourite songs I’ve ever written.”
Critically and commercially, Divisive fared nicely, too. For example, it earned reward from publications resembling Blabbermouth and Metal Hammer, and it debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart.
