Cleveland’s Mayor Declared ‘MGK Day’ at Rock Hall Ceremony

Final evening, the Cleveland-based Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honored Machine Gun Kelly (who has ties to the town) with “MGK Day,” which included a display with a number of of the rapper-turned-rocker’s private objects. Nicely, it appears as if the designation is now official, as Cleveland’s Mayor Justin Bibb named Aug. 13 “Machine Gun Kelly Day” whereas handing Kelly a celebratory plaque outdoors of 27 Membership Espresso (which Kelly owns).

As reported by Cleveland’s WKYC,  Mayor Bibb handed Kelly the framed doc mere hours earlier than Kelly was set to carry out at FirstEnergy Stadium for his extremely anticipated hometown live performance (as a part of his “Mainstream Sellout Tour 2022”).

After greeting spectators and introducing himself, Bibb declared: “4 years in the past, I met MGK, and I didn’t know that somebody might love the town of Cleveland as I did. However he does, and so at present is formally ‘Machine Gun Kelly Day.’” Clearly, onlookers have been thrilled with the announcement, and Kelly himself seemed to be immensely humbled as he acquired the plaque.

Kelly posted a clip of the hand-off to his Instagram web page, which you’ll see under:

Equally, Mayor Bibb uploaded a photograph of himself and Kelly posing with the plaque to his Instagram account:

Expectedly, each posts have been met with largely enthusiastic responses.

As for Kelly’s efficiency later that evening,’s Troy L. Smith was in attendance and wrote that Kelly acquired “choked up” nearly instantly when he noticed the roughly 50,000 concertgoers chanting, “MGK! MGK! MGK!”

“I can’t put into phrases what I’m feeling proper now,” he acknowledged after ending “Born with Horns.” Clearly, he had a number of causes to have a good time.
